MSG. Jeff Rector
Retired Casualty Assistance Coordinator (Michigan), United States Army

As a society in America, we take a great deal for granted.  We so often forget about the men and women who have chosen to put themselves in harm’s way for our country.

When a military service member dies in the line of duty, there is a strict military procedure that demands the ultimate respect for the deceased.  This is handled by a casualty assistance officer and in the case of Michigan it was MSG. Jeff Rector.

Jeff sat down with us and not only shared his thoughts but outlined all the steps of the formal military funeral, right up to properly folding and placing the U.S. flag into the hands of the designated loved one.

MSG Jeff Rector also shared with us the signature of the motorcycle group: Patriot Guard.

This interview took place at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI
